Development Assistant (Part-time)

OPPORTUNITY
The part-time Development Assistant will be an integral member of the staff at Classic Stage Company (CSC), an award-winning Off-Broadway theater company committed to reimagining classic stories for contemporary audiences.

The Development Assistant position supports all areas of the annual fundraising efforts, including: institutional giving, individual donor campaigns, and special events. The Development Assistant is primarily responsible for record-keeping, administrative processing, and research projects, and will also play an integral role in managing donor communications, organizing cultivation events, and facilitating fundraising campaigns.

This new role requires an outgoing self-starter who is detail-oriented and works well
in a small, fast-paced, team-oriented office, while simultaneously working autonomously with unfaltering attention to detail.

Reporting to the Director of Development, this job is part-time (20 hours per week) and based out of the company’s administrative offices in the Gramercy/Union Square area of Manhattan. Additional hours will be required seasonally, largely dependent upon programming at the theater, including evenings and weekends for special events.

The intended starting date for this position is August 19, 2019.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support to execute fundraising campaigns throughout the year
  • Process all contributions and donor acknowledgement letters
  • Maintain accurate records of donor outreach and profiles through regular upkeep of donor database (OvationTix)
  • Manage performance ticketing and special event attendance for donors
  • Manage and maintain solicitation and communication calendars, and assist with all donor communications, including invitations, ticket booking, and appeals
  • Assist with Gala and other special events preparation and day-of logistics
  • Assist with the creation and organization of Individual Giving solicitation communication materials
  • Assist with proofreading and development of grant proposals and reports
  • Liaise with Digital Marketing Assistant on social media and digital fundraising campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one year’s administrative experience; development experience is a plus
  • Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Comprehensive research experience
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database/CRM experience; Experience with OvationTix is a plus

Company Manager (Part-time)

OPPORTUNITY
The part-time Company Manager will serve a crucial role as part of the General Management team at Classic Stage Company (CSC), an award-winning non-profit Off-Broadway theater company committed to reimagining classic stories for contemporary audiences. CSC is a home for New York’s finest established and emerging artists to grapple with great works of the world’s repertory that speak directly to the issues of today.

CSC is looking for a part-time Company Manager for its upcoming 2019-20 season. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Candidates must be personable with excellent customer service instincts, be able to creatively solve problems, and possess a good sense of humor. This is a great opportunity for candidates starting a career in company or general management.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer/GM and the Assistant General Manager, this position is part-time (20 hours per week) and is primarily based out of the company’s administrative offices in the Gramercy/Union Square area of Manhattan. Additional hours will be required seasonally, largely dependent upon programming at the theater. This position will be expected to work evenings and weekends.

The intended starting date for this position is the week of September 8, 2019.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Company representative at performances and rehearsals to provide support to stage managers, actors, crew, and front of house
  • Prepare weekly production payroll, including weekly union benefit, commission, and royalty reporting
  • Track contracts and agreements with artistic and production personnel
  • Analyze and report final ticket purchases per production
  • Assist with planning Opening Night and other production special events
  • Organize bios and listings for production programs
  • Oversee company tickets, tech seats, and house seat requests
  • Manage workers compensation claims for artistic team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one year’s administrative experience; customer service experience is a plus
  • Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
