Part-Time Box Office Assistant
Classic Stage Company (CSC) seeks a part-time Box Office Assistant for its productions of Dracula and Frankenstein running through March 8. This position will serve on the box office team at CSC, an award-winning non-profit Off-Broadway theater company committed to reimagining classic stories for contemporary audiences. CSC is a home for New York’s finest established and emerging artists to grapple with great works of the world’s repertory that speak directly to the issues of today.
The Box Office Assistant will help bring exemplary customer service to all CSC patrons and should help nurture the relationship between CSC and its audience. Candidates must be personable with excellent customer service instincts, be able to creatively solve problems, and possess a great sense of humor.
Reporting to the Audiences Services Manager, this position is part-time (about 10-12 hours per week, on Saturdays and Sundays) and is based out of the company’s Lynn F. Angelson Theater at 136 East 13th Street. Additional hours may be available, largely dependent upon programming at the theater. This position requires availability on weekends.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Selling tickets in-person at box office and via phone
- Printing and distributing will-call tickets prior to performances
- Maintaining box office sales and ticket reconciliation reports
- Upholding proactive communications with colleagues during pre-show period
- Answering questions about CSC and current/upcoming programming
- Helping with per-performance house reports
Applicants must be punctual, efficient multitaskers with strong communication skills. Applicants should have experience working in customer service. Prior experience with OvationTix, or a similar system, is a plus but not required.
Applicants must be available on all Saturdays and Sundays through March 8, 2020.
