Dear Friend of CSC,

It is my pleasure to invite you to CSC’s first ever London theater trip! Join me in kicking off the new year across the pond for 6 exciting days of London theater and lively conversations.

I am so thrilled to offer this trip – London has always been special to me, and I can’t wait to guide the CSC community through that great city and share many of my favorite theaters and artists with you. Not only will this be a wonderful way to engage with theater beyond 13th Street together, but we’ll also be including exclusive, intimate conversations and behind the scenes experiences with an incredible array of talent. Truly, this is not to be missed!

Dates: January 18-24, 2025
Cost: $7,895 per person

What’s included:

  • 6 nights’ accommodation at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in a deluxe room (double occupancy) with full English breakfast daily. The hotel is situated on the Thames, with easy walking to Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, the South Bank, and more
  • Dinner at the spectacular 34 Mayfair Restaurant
  • Special guest speakers during daily morning meetings (the best of the best of London theatre – similar trips have featured Mark Rylance, Janet McTeer, Nicholas Hytner, and so many more!)
  • Premium tickets to five shows including
    • The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde at the National Theatre, directed by Max Webster and starring Tony nominee and Oliver award winner Sharon D Clarke (Death of a Salesman) and Ncuti Gatwa (current star of Dr. Who)
    • The Invention of Love by Tom Stoppard at the Hampstead Theatre, directed by Blanche McIntyre and starring legendary Olivier and Tony award-winner Sir Simon Russell Beale
    • Witness for the Prosecution by Agatha Christie in the magnificent London County Hall

* Please note, airfare is not included in the cost, and we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

We’re eager to share the other titles on the itinerary very soon, and we’re off to a great start with this initial trio. Personally, having worked on the last Broadway revival of Earnest, I can’t wait to see this latest take on one of the great classic comedies (if you’ve seen Sharon D Clarke in Caroline, or Change or Death of a Salesman on Broadway, I’m sure you’re equally excited for her Lady Bracknell). As a self-declared Stoppard nerd, I’m thrilled that one of his greatest, most moving works is being revived with the incomparable Simon Russell Beale, who is himself one of the great Stoppard interpreters. And who can resist an impeccable Agatha Christie mystery, with this Witness for the Prosecution that immerses you in the courtroom drama? We are in for a treat!

What is also included in the cost of this experience is a donation to CSC for $1,500, which will allow us to continue to engage our audience and community with outstanding productions and intimate conversations in the season ahead. We greatly appreciate your continued support of our theater.

I hope you can join me for this incredibly special experience together.

Warmly,

Jill Rafson
Producing Artistic Director
